DULUTH, Minn. — Sixth-grade students from Lincoln Park Middle School were rewarded for outstanding attendance with a fun-filled pool event organized by School Resource Officer Tim Chaney.

The gathering, held to celebrate the students’ commitment to showing up for school, featured staff and officers taking turns making cannonball jumps into the pool as students cheered them on.

Officer Chaney created the event this year to build stronger relationships with his students outside the classroom setting.

The Duluth Police Department said the students had a “splashing good time” and credited their enthusiasm and attendance for making the celebration possible.
