Demonstrators gathered in the streets carrying Pakistani flags and chanted slogans such as "Long live Pakistan, long live the Pakistan Army." Banner featuring photos of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir were displayed during the rally. Talat Kazimi, who participated in the demonstration, expressed his satisfaction with the end of tensions between Pakistan and India through a cease-fire, Kazimi emphasized that the cease-fire decision is a good one for both countries. Stating that war is not beneficial for any country, Kazimi added that India should refrain from similar actions like the one on May 7. Malik Nadeem Akhtar also stated that the cease-fire was a good decision not only for the two countries but also for the region and the world. Akhtar said that the cease-fire is good for the people of both Pakistan and India, and for the whole world. Otherwise, it would have been a huge loss not just for the both, but for the entire world. Perhaps even a third world war could have started. The tension between India and Pakistan, which began on May 7, ended today with a cease-fire agreement between the two countries.
