COLUMBIA, S.C. — One of the University of South Carolina’s most cherished traditions continued this graduation season as the student behind the beloved mascot Cocky was revealed during commencement.

Nicole, who spent her college career bringing the spirited mascot to life, walked across the stage wearing Cocky’s signature yellow feet and officially announced her role to the crowd.

The university’s tradition requires the identity of the student portraying Cocky to remain secret throughout their time on campus. The reveal at graduation marks a symbolic and emotional conclusion to their service as the face of Gamecock pride.

Congratulations poured in for Nicole as she took her final steps in costume, ending years of dedicated and spirited anonymity.
