Brett Goldstein on stand-up comedy: 'A pitying silence is the worst'

Goldstein, best known for his Emmy-winning role as Roy Kent in the sports comedy series Ted Lasso, was a stand-up comedian for 20 years before venturing into acting. In a conversation with his co-star Phil Dunster for Interview Magazine, the comedian opened up about the most challenging parts of stand-up. "A pitying silence is the worst. It feels like dying on stage because you come to connect with people and when it doesn't work it's like, 'Oh my god. Am I even here? Do I exist? What is happening?'”
