This is the shocking moment a suspected thief stole a phone from a massage worker sleeping outside a shop in Thailand.

The suspect was walking along a row of massage parlours - notorious for offering 'happy ending' rubdowns to tourists - when she came across Supatsara Somsuay, 19, sleeping in front of a shop in Sin City Pattaya, on May 3.

CCTV footage shows the alleged robber, seen in the video wearing a black top and short black skirt, sitting on a bench next to the unconscious shop worker.

She glanced around her surroundings, allegedly to make sure no one was looking, before plucking Supatsara's phone and stuffing it in her purse.

Supatsara woke up and found that her Vivo Y335 worth 8,000 baht (180 GBP) and her ID were missing.

She said: 'After finishing work, I went to have dinner and drinks with my friends. I was returning to the shop to sleep off the alcohol, but the front door was locked. I didn't want to bother anybody so I just slept there with my phone next to me. But when I woke up, my phone was already gone.'

The massage worker said she has lodged a complaint with the Pattaya City Police Station and submitted the CCTV footage as evidence.

Officers are now searching for the suspect.
