Today, Tuesday 13 May 2025, around 200 scientists gathered outside the Houses of Parliament calling for the UK government to prioritise scientific evidence in policymaking, especially on the climate crisis. Environmental campaigner and broadcaster Chris Packham was among those taking part and was filmed speaking at the event.

Also present, though not captured in the footage, were Sir David King, former Chief Scientific Adviser to the UK government; comedian and science advocate Robin Ince; and Emma Smart, a climate scientist and activist previously imprisoned for her role in non-violent climate protests. The action was part of a wider call for urgent, science-led climate action.
