A diner tucked into a plate of steak and chips - that was actually ice cream.

Footage shows the hyper-realistic slice of meat, corn, sausages, fries, and egg that were actually desserts.

The pieces were carefully plated one-by-one to resemble a protein-rich main course.

A small serving of strawberry syrup was even added to resemble tomato ketchup.

The customer, Thanporn, then put cream on top of the chocolate-flavoured sweets at the Aroi Restaurant in Samut Songkhram, Thailand.

She said: 'My brain was expecting salty, but my tongue was tasting sweet and cold. It was delicious.'

The owner, Sitanun Sumangkalasombat, 41, said that she made them using a gelato machine from Italy.

She said: 'I've run the shop for six years and sold ordinary ice cream until early 2024. But I felt their appearance was too mundane, so I introduced animal-shaped ice creams with new flavours.'

Sitanun said that her ice creams are difficult to make, and each one takes up to five hours to solidify. Some even take a whole day to prepare before they are ready to eat.
