Alligator holds up traffic while strolling across road in Alabama
An alligator caused a brief traffic delay while strolling across a road in Alabama.
Motorists patiently waited as the reptile ambled across Interstate 85 in Pike Road.
Footage shows a vehicle slowing down to avoid startling the gator, as the seemingly unfazed animal steadily made its way into the nearby grass on May 11.
After safely crossing all lanes, the alligator disappeared into the bushes beside the motorway.
No injuries or traffic incidents were reported.
In a separate incident on March 4, another American alligator was spotted crossing a road at the Arthur R Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge in Florida, this time with a turtle clamped in its jaws.
