US: Dragonfly Eats Another Dragonfly In Voyageurs National Park
United States - July 31, 2024 A dragonfly was caught on video eating another dragonfly in Voyageurs National Park. Dragonflies belong to the scientific order Odonata. The name means "toothed one" in Greek and refers to their serrated teeth. These teeth help dragonflies control populations of mosquitoes and other insects. A single dragonfly can eat between 30 and 100 mosquitoes daily. However, the dragonfly in this video appears to prefer eating another dragonfly. This rare behavior shows a surprising side of these fierce insects in the wild.
