INTERVIEW WITH ONE OF PROTESTERS RANIAPARIS, FRANCE - MAY 15: A commemoration ceremony for over 53,000 Palestinians killed by Israel in Gaza was held in 45 cities in France, Belgium and Switzerland on Thursday, May 15. At the call of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), especially health workers, Palestinian supporters came together in 41 cities in France, two in Belgium and two in Switzerland. The names and ages of civilians killed in Israel's genocidal war on Gaza were read out simultaneously during the ceremonies. Palestinian supporters in France gathered in Trocadero Square in the capital Paris. The activists carried Palestinian flags and fabrics embroidered with the names of civilians killed in Gaza. The Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, killing more than 53,000 Palestinians so far, most of them women and children. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
