A severe storm disrupted Beyonce's pop concert in Chicago.

Footage shows concertgoers taking shelter outside Soldier Field as intense rain and strong winds battered the area on Thursday, May 15.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch covering 34 northern and central Illinois counties.

Officials at Soldier Field delayed gate openings until 9 pm, closely monitoring the worsening conditions.

The show, part of Beyonce's Cowboy Carter Tour, eventually began around 10:15 pm despite being scheduled to start at 7 pm.

The Grammy-winning singer said: 'I'm so happy to be on the stage seeing all of your beautiful faces. Thank you for all your love even throughout the storm. Y'all are here. I am here, and we're going to have a good ol' time.'

Beyonce was scheduled to perform at Soldier Field for three nights, including shows on May 17 and 18.
