Coconut collecting monkeys ride on the back of motorcycle
Pet monkeys being kept as coconut pickers at a farm rode on the back of a motorcycle.
The two primates wore chains around their necks while sitting on the back of the vehicle sidecar in Surat Thani, Thailand.
Footage shows the macaques perched on the moving motorcycle on March 6.
The animals, with their caretakers, were on the way to harvest coconuts from a plantation.
The monkey on the back of the driver, four-year-old Sai Fa, was well-behaved during the journey.
One of the monkey keepers, Chonticha, said: 'Sai Fa is usually energetic, but that day he did not move much.'
In some parts of Thailand, monkeys are trained to climb tall coconut trees and pick coconuts.
However, the practice has been criticised by animal rights groups, which raise concerns about the monkeys' welfare and treatment.
