A moped rider being chased by police smashed into a car after a passing Lada driver deliberately blocked the road.

The drama unfolded on Skorynina Street in the town of Nizhnyaya Tura, in Russia's Sverdlovsk province, on Saturday, May 10.

Footage shows the biker, riding a blue moped, speeding away from pursuing traffic police officers before the crash.

The driver of a silver Lada Granta was seen pulling into the moped's path, apparently intending to stop the fleeing rider.

The moped rider hit the side of the car at high speed and was thrown off the vehicle.

No one was injured in the crash.

Authorities confirmed the biker had been attempting to evade a routine traffic stop when the collision occurred.
