VARIOUS OF OTERS CASTING THEIR BALLOTSZAGREB, CROATIA - MAY 18: Voters in Croatia are heading to the polls on Sunday, May 18, to elect mayors and municipal council members in nationwide local elections. Polling stations across the European Union (EU) member states will remain open until 7 p.m. local time. More than 3.5 million registered voters can cast their ballots in elections where over 31,000 candidates are competing for positions. Voters will determine the leadership of 428 municipalities, 127 city administrations, and 21 counties. The Croatian State Electoral Commission (DIP) will announce preliminary, unofficial results before midnight. The last local elections in Croatia were held in 2021.
