Giant sea cucumbers being sold at market look like alien with dozens of teeth
A market vendor showed off giant sea cucumbers for sale that looked like aliens.
Footage shows the 2ft long marine creature being rubbed by the seller at Coco Island in Yangon, Myanmar, on May 2.
The strange, slimy slab was covered in dozens of bumpy spots that resembled rows of tiny teeth, adding to its bizarre, otherworldly appearance.
Others had a smooth surface with reddish patterns and an underside that looked like a giant tongue.
Many sea cucumber species are edible and considered a delicacy in several Asian cuisines. They are often braised or stewed, while Japanese chefs serve them raw and sliced thin with dipping sauce.
