China - May 19, 2025 Storyline: Robots refresh tourists' experience in China [Voice_over] Visitors to the Enshi Grand Canyon in central China's Hubei Province have been enjoying various robot-related experiences during the May Day holiday this year. At one site, universities and tech companies held a series of robot races, wherein robot dogs traversed a series of obstacles. Robot dogs are also used in the Enshi Grand Canyon to help porters bring heavy loads up and down the canyon's laborious steps. [Sound_bite] Porter at Enshi Grand Canyon: "Now with the robot dogs, it's convenient to carry things, not to say they save the labor.” [Voice_over] Those steps can be hard for anyone to climb, which is why robotic exoskeleton devices are also available for rent. [Sound_bite] Tourist: "I climbed up here pretty easily, but climbing up on my own could be really tough. Wearing this, feels like I'm not walking on my own. It's like someone is helping me walk." [Voice_over] The Enshi Grand Canyon contains almost all kinds of rock and land formations including cliffs, peaks, pillars, hanging valleys, sink holes, and subterranean rivers.
