Fight between tourists and female driver causes traffic chaos in Bali
This is the moment two tourists fought with a female driver, sparking traffic chaos in Bali.
The male holidaymakers allegedly parked their BMW in the middle of the road in the Badung district on May 16.
They were confronted by a female Indonesian motorist in an oncoming Pajero. However, the row escalated into a brawl when the defiant pair refused to move the luxury car.
Chaotic footage shows furious drivers honking their horns as several motorists descended on the holidaymakers on the clogged Pantai Berawa Road.
The tourists, later identified by officers as Algerian national Ouail Ali Laouar and Malek Bentchikou, reported the incident to the police.
Ipda Putu Sukarma, spokesman of the Badung Police, said: 'Currently, the case is still being handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Badung Police.'
Khoirul Anam, a motorcycle taxi driver passing through the scene, said he was about to drop off a passenger when he noticed the commotion in the middle of the road.
He said: 'There was an argument, and the woman slapped one of the foreigners wearing a cream shirt. After that, a man, probably her friend, shoved the tourist until the fight escalated.
'The tourists were very emotional, to the point they were attacking other drivers that were not involved.
'Because their car was blocking the road, the other motorists blew up and attacked them.'
Authorities said the BMW has been towed from the scene as investigations were ongoing.
AKP I Ketut Agus Pasek Sudina, North Kuta Police Chief, said: 'Authorities are still investigating whether a sharp weapon was involved and what triggered the altercation in the tourist area.'
