An agreement is about to be reached allowing the Herstmonceux Observatory, formerly owned by the Royal Observatory Greenwich, to extend its lease and continual to operate as an educational and visitor centre. The Grad II* listed building owned by Queen's University Canada had said, without giving a reason, that it would not be extending the Science observatory's lease beyond the end of 2026. It had looked like the observatory would close with nowhere else to go while the building would, due to tis Grade II* listing, have to be maintained. Herstmonceux Observatory, East Sussex, UK
