Stray bull head butts motorbike rider sending him crashing to ground
This is the shocking moment a stray bull headbutted a motorbike rider, sending him crashing to the ground.
The motorist was speeding on the motorway when the horned beast suddenly charged at him in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan.
CCTV footage shows the animal smashing into the two-wheeler on May 14.
This caused the man to topple over and be thrown into the air before plunging into the drain on the side of the road.
The cow then immediately ran away as if nothing happened while the victim was left soaking wet.
Visibly stunned from the encounter, he stood up and walked away as a local nearby checks on him.
The man reportedly did not sustain any serious injuries from the crash.
In a separate accident, two aggressive stray bulls brawled on a road before charging at a store in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on January 21.
On April 20, a stray cow rammed a fruit cart, hitting two customers in Punjab.
In recent years, stray bulls have increased in population due to laws in many Indian states that ban cow slaughter, such as the Rajasthan Bovine Animal, known as Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export Act, 1995. These laws make it illegal to slaughter cows, bulls, or bullocks, even if they are old or unproductive.
As a result, many farmers, unable to shoulder the cost of keeping non-productive cattle, often abandon them. This has led to road accidents involving these bovines.
In India, devout locals follow Hindu customs, with cows and bulls regarded as sacred animals that cannot be eaten or slaughtered once they have stopped producing milk. The majority of states ban the sale or slaughter of cows.
Instead of dealing with the economic burden of keeping their spent cattle, many farmers let the beasts roam the streets, leading to chaos when the animals become agitated and turn their fury on humans.
