An Indian tourist was seen attacking a transgender woman after she allegedly rejected his advances outside a bar in Thailand.

Footage captured the moment the South Asian visitor kicked and grabbed the alleged prostitute by her hair, knocking her to the ground in Phuket on May 19.

The troublemaker was then pulled away by his friend while another transwoman tried to fight him off with an umbrella.

He was separated from the Thai ladyboy by two of his compatriots, but the fighting began again with a second confrontation.

The alleged sex worker touched the injuries on her nose while shouting at the Indian men.

But shortly after, she was again seen in a violent altercation with the trio.

When she fought back, the Indian national she initially argued with hugged her from behind.

Eyewitness Varanuch Wongin said he was trying to feel her breasts.

Waranuch said: 'The Indian wearing a white and purple striped shirt hugged her from behind and reached into her breasts.

'The two others grabbed her. They fought and punched her. It happened around 2 am.'

The incident was not reported to the police, so the leading cause of the fight remained unclear.

Varanuch added: 'After that, they all went their separate ways. If it were very serious, the cops would always be at the scene.'

The once-pristine island of Phuket has been marred by over-tourism as the Thai government implements a visa-free scheme to boost revenue following the barren pandemic years.

The island saw 800,000 foreign visitors last year alone.

However, angry locals claim the push for tourist dollars has attracted crowds of 'low-quality' visitors. There are also fears that the island has become an enclave of criminal activity, with police unable to control street fights and more organised ruffians setting up rackets among local businesses.

Phuket officials said they are now implementing tighter immigration controls and screening processes amid a wave of drug-related crimes and illegal activities on the island.
