AMBULANCES GETTING READY TO LEAVEJABALIA, PALESTINE - MAY 19, 2025: At least one Palestinian was killed and dozens were injured after Israeli forces struck the Jabalia area in northern Gaza. The wounded were taken to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, where emergency medical tents were set up in the hospital courtyard to treat the victims. The Israeli army killed 35 more Palestinians since early Monday in deadly strikes across the war-devastated Gaza Strip, medics said. A medical source told Anadolu that 15 people lost their lives in strikes targeting homes and tents for displaced civilians in the southern city of Khan Younis. One of the victims was shot dead by a live bullet directly targeting him, and his body was brought to the Nasser Medical Complex in the city, the source added. Security sources and witnesses confirmed that the dead Palestinian was Ahmed Sarhan, a commander of the Popular Resistance Committees, a Gaza-based group. According to the sources, an Israeli special force disguised in women's clothes sneaked into western Khan Younis and killed Sarhan, leaving behind a box resembling items for displaced people. Sarhan’s wife and children, including a 10-year-old, were arrested by Israeli forces, they added. During the attack on Khan Younis, the Israeli army cut off the city's communications service, the Palestinian news agency Wafa said. Sarhan’s group confirmed that he was killed in clashes with Israeli forces.
