KHAN YOUNIS, GAZA, PALESTINE - MAY 19, 2025: As Israeli genocidal attacks intensify across the besieged Gaza Strip, Palestinians in the southern city of Khan Younis and nearby areas have begun fleeing their homes in growing numbers, seeking refuge in what they hope are safer zones. Residents, many carrying only the bare essentials, are moving on foot, in wheelchairs, and by cart amid the continuing assaults. The mass exodus follows a sharp escalation in Israeli military operations across the devastated enclave. On Sunday, the Israeli army began a broad ground offensive in the war-torn Gaza Strip. The Israeli army has waged a genocidal war on Gaza since October 2023, killing more than 53,300 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
