This is the moment a woman was verbally abused by a man after she told him she wasn't interested in him.

Larissa Kelani, 28, was waiting for her train at a busy station when a stranger approached and tried to compliment her.

Larissa calmly and politely told the man she wasn't interested in having a conversation, but the exchange quickly became heated

The man started hurling racist and misogynistic insults at Larissa, calling her names and telling her to "go back to her village"."

In the video, the man can be heard calling Larissa a "b****," a "villager," and even using the N-word."

Larissa says the encounter left her feeling "really afraid."

Larissa, a sales assistant near Düren, Germany, said: "I don't necessarily look like it in the video"

because I was trying to stay calm and not escalate the situation.

"But he kept inching towards me as he yelled and I felt very scared about what he might do to me."

Larissa says it became apparent quite quickly that the man became "upset" because she didn't want to engage in a conversation. "

She said: "His insults were clearly him reaching for something to hurt me, anything."

"He initially approached me speaking French, and then English, so I thought he may have moved here from a French-speaking African country."

"There can sometimes be a feeling amongst people who have come from Africa to live in Europe that they think black people who were born and raised here think they're better than them."

"This is, of course, not the case."

"But I felt this insecurity from him being projected onto me, especially with some of the racist 'villager' comments."

Larissa ultimately removed herself from the situation by moving to a different seating area of the platform.

The man did not follow her but continued yelling until another man approached him.

This was the first time any of the many bystanders took action to intervene in the situation.

Larissa said: "There were plenty of people around but no one stepped in."

"It was only once I'd moved that a man went up to the guy and asked him what was wrong."

"But still no one checked on me."

"It felt really discouraging and lonely."

Larissa managed to get on her train after seeing the man get on the same train and ensuring they were in separated carriages.

Then, when she got off at her station, she looked to be sure that he was still on the train, which he was.

Despite escaping the situation unharmed, Larissa has found herself anxiously looking for this man each time she's been at the station since.

She said: "I didn't expect to be so affected, but I am."

"I would have never wanted to go to this station at night before but now I don't even want to go in the day."

"He was wearing sunglasses as well so I'm not even sure what he looks like."

"I'm nervous around every guy that could be him."

"I have thought about going to the police but considering I never filmed his face, I'm sure they won't be able to do anything."
