US, Los Angeles: Historic South Central Los Angeles Fire Hydrant Found Gushing Water
Los Angeles, United States - May 21, 2025 05/20/2025 11:24 pm GMT-0700 HISTORIC SOUTH-CENTRAL LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a fire hydrant gushing water overnight. Firefighters discovered that one of the caps on top of the hydrant had been removed, causing water to shoot into the air. After attempting to shut off the valve without much success, LAFD requested assistance from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. DWP responded to the scene and tried to shut off the water. It remains unclear how the hydrant was opened initially. The incident was reported near the intersection of 35th Street and Main.
