Greece was hit by a magnitude 6.2 earthquake triggering a tsunami warning.

Footage shows rocks falling into a caldera after the tremor hit Santorini at 6:19 am local time on May 22.

Onlooker Samuel Biener said: 'Everything shook for about 15 seconds. People have taken to the streets. There are collapses in the caldera.'

The United States Geological Survey said the quake struck 61 kilometres (38 miles) northeast of Elounda. It was 64 kilometres (40 miles) deep.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre now issued a tsunami warning for Greece, Turkey, Italy, France and Portugal.
