Biker face plants after hitting uneven paving stone in China
On May 20, an unexpected accident occurred in Wuhan, Hubei Province, due to damaged pavement.
A man riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk hit a loose paving stone. The tile suddenly lifted, tripping the scooter and causing the man to be thrown into the air and crash to the ground. The tumbling scooter nearly struck his head.
The man sustained injuries to his hand and later got up and went to seek medical attention on his own.
Nearby shopkeepers reported that the issue with damaged paving stones in that area had existed for some time.
Wuhan's urban management authorities responded by saying that a repair team had already completed emergency repairs on the night of the incident. They confirmed the accident was indeed caused by the damaged pavement and stated they would follow up on the injured man’s treatment.
