This is the hilarious moment a cheeky bear destroyed a tent at a campsite in Washington.

Footage shows the creature named Benton playing with his newly discovered toy on Tuesday, May 20.

Northwest Trek Wildlife Park said: 'Benton had the best time at our annual Bear Camp event! From flopping around in his tent to checking out the food stash, he's here to show why secure campsites are a must in the Pacific Northwest.'

Campers are urged to keep food, rubbish, and scented items in bear-proof containers or locked vehicles to avoid attracting wildlife and to ensure the safety of both humans and animals.

Authorities added: 'We are a wildlife park and this mock campsite is inside their habitat, not in the wild. It's to demonstrate for guests what not to do while camping.

'Let's camp smart and share the wild responsibly.'
