British Member of Parliament Bob Blackman joined the 'Free Iran' rally held in Paris.

Officials said that the event focused on the urgent call for a new and assertive international approach towards Iran.

The emphasis was placed on backing democratic reforms and acknowledging the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) as a credible alternative to the existing government.

The gathering took place on Saturday, May 17, and was attended by parliamentarians and notable political figures from several countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Malta, Switzerland, Romania, Portugal, and the Netherlands.

Speaking in the video, MP Bob Blackman, said: 'Freedom is coming. To the tyrants who rule Iran at the moment, your time is coming to an end. And so, what we hope for is freedom, democracy, and the rule of law to be available in Iran. Free Iran!'

Other speakers also expressed strong support for the Iranian people's ongoing demonstrations and their efforts to oppose authoritarian rule.

Irish Senator Gerard Craughwell said: 'Fear is the only thing the regime have. And the people of Iran, the good people of Iran, you have nothing to fear but fear.

'You need to rise up, call the citizens of Iran together, and say enough.'

The Paris gathering highlighted the increasing global backing for the Iranian population's pursuit of freedom, as well as for the NCRI's proposed framework for a democratic, secular, and non-nuclear Iran.
