...GAZA, PALESTINE - MAY 22, 2025: Israel released 10 Palestinians who had been detained during its ongoing military operations in the blockaded Gaza Strip, following several months in custody, on late Thursday (May 22). The individuals were handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and subsequently transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the central city of Deir al-Balah for medical evaluation. Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing nearly 53,800 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
