Protesters carried Palestinian and Yemeni flags and held banners expressing solidarity with Gaza, while chanting slogans such as, "We stand with Gaza and Palestine against the killers and the arrogant," and "Support Gaza, fight genocide and starvation." The demonstrations also featured strong condemnations of Israel and the U.S., with participants shouting, "A full naval blockade is a slap to the criminal entity (Israel)," "We will not leave Gaza alone," and "The end of Israel is near." Israel continues to reject international calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, as its army has been pursuing a brutal offensive since October 2023, killing over 53,800 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
