Bakersfield, United States - May 23, 2025 05/23/2025 01:07 am GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – On Friday morning, California Highway Patrol responded to a traffic collision on I-5 Northbound, just south of Grapevine Road. Officers arrived to find possibly five vehicles involved in the incident, including one that had gone over a cliff. One patient was rescued from the side of the freeway, while Kern County firefighters tended to an unspecified number of other patients. Multiple ambulances from Hall Ambulance transported those requiring medical attention to nearby hospitals in Bakersfield. The total number of patients remains unknown, and injuries ranged from minor to major. The northbound lanes of the I-5 over the Grapevine were blocked, and it was unclear when the roadway would reopen.
