US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield Vegetation Fire Prompts Response From Fire Departments
Bakersfield, United States - May 23, 2025 05/23/2025 01:47 pm GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Fire Department and Kern County Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire dubbed the "Bluff Fire" in the Panorama Vista Preserve, located off Ruby Lane and Georgia Drive. Nearby residents, including those from Rancho De La Esperanza on Georgia Drive, engaged in efforts to defend their properties against the approaching flames, retrieving items and using water to help control the fire. Kern County Fire Department requested an air attack helicopter, H407, to assist in fighting the blaze. The fire burned approximately 60 acres, and forward progress was stopped shortly after 4:30 p.m. Kern County Fire Department Arson Units are currently investigating the incident.
