Watch as huge warehouse fire rages - with smoke seen 10 miles away
Dramatic videos have captured a massive warehouse fire - where raging red flames and dark smoke plumes could be seen for 10 miles.
Firefighters raced to the scene at Monoworld Recycling Centre Lodge in Rushden, Northamptonshire after the huge blaze broke out at around 6.30am on Friday (May 23).
A major incident was declared but has since been stood down. However, roads remain closed and residents are still being advised to keep their doors and windows shut - due to the fumes.
An investigation into the fire is currently underway.
Local resident Amelia Quinn, 35, witnessed the fire at around 10am, as she was driving to a shopping centre with her partner.
Mesmerised by the smoke, the mum drove towards the incident to capture videos of the inferno, which show black smoke billowing into the sky.
She said: "The fact there were no people injured, I actually enjoyed the view of it. I know that sounds really bizarre."
"The lavalike fire that was coming out, I was actually quite mesmerised by it - it's not a sight you see every day."
"The smoke just got thicker and darker, and the flames got worse. "
"We thought 'sod the shopping centre, we're going towards it'."
"We got as close as we could, I actually parked on a double-yellow line and we walked up until the police told us we couldn't go anymore, we were literally as close as we could get."
At its height, 15 fire crews, including some from neighbouring counties, were tackling the blaze.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of any injuries.
