Footage shows a pair of sisters fleeing their home as a magnitude 6.3 earthquake strikes Indonesia.

The quake hit at 2:52 am on Friday, May 23, with its epicenter located approximately 43 kilometers southwest of the city of Bengkulu.

At least 100 homes were damaged when it jolted Bengkulu province on Sumatra Island.

Provincial Governor Helmi Hasan said: 'We record at least 100 houses damaged by the quake, of which less than half suffered from major damages.'

He added that there were no fatalities, though several residents sustained minor injuries.

Abdul Muhari, spokesman for the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary panic in the community.
