PALESTINIAN FAMILY BIDDING FINAL FAREWELL AT FUNERAL GAZA, PALESTINE - MAY 26: Israeli forces carried out attacks on homes and tents in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, killing Palestinians, including children, on Monday, May 26. The bodies of those killed in the attacks were brought to Nasser Hospital in the city. Palestinians mourned their loved ones with deep sorrow as they bid them farewell. On Monday morning, Israel aslo killed at least 49 Palestinians in two airstrikes targeting a school sheltering displaced people and a home in Gaza City and Jabalia, northern Gaza. The Israeli army, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing nearly 54,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
