A mother and her son had an emotional surprise homecoming after spending six years apart.

Footage shows Analisa Malabag, 41, entering the restaurant with a cake as the family started singing for Jansen in Dasmarinas City, the Philippines.

Analisa appeared in front of the teenager, who burst into tears before the pair hugged.

The single mum said she had to leave her family to work in Taiwan and had not visited home ever since.

However, she had diligently been sending money home every month to put her boy through school.

Jansen said: 'I had no idea she would be present for my special day. I was so happy when I saw her.'

The party continued with the family celebrating the youngster's 17th birthday on May 21.
