A friendly tourist took wholesome selfies with a stray dog while enjoying the view from a beach.

Footage shows the holidaymaker Kim Jade Capuli sitting on the sand with an Aspin pooch that perched beside her in Cebu, the Philippines.

Kim Jade set up a mini-tripod for her phone and posed with the canine that huddled beside her.

The pair looked like they had known each other for a long time despite randomly meeting by the shore on May 3.

Kim Jade said: 'I woke up early because we were planning to visit the nearest island from the beach.

'While waiting, I thought I'd take a few pictures of myself by the shore. That's when this super sweet and adorable dog came up to me.

'My sister and I are both huge dog lovers. We have some at home. So I instantly felt comfortable playing with him.

'My sister noticed us having fun and snapped a few photos, which turned out to be such a great memory from our trip to Cebu.'
