On May 28 in Chongqing, scaffolding several meters high suddenly collapsed at a building façade construction site next to a roadside. At the moment of the collapse, a woman happened to be walking beneath it. Realising the danger, she sprinted away just in time, narrowly escaping injury.

After the accident, several good Samaritans saw that people were trapped under the fallen scaffolding. They immediately rushed over and worked together to lift the collapsed safety frame, successfully rescuing those pinned beneath. Among the rescuers were passersby, sanitation workers, and food delivery drivers.

Fire trucks and ambulances quickly arrived at the scene. The injured were transported to the hospital for treatment.

The incident left two pedestrians injured — a man and a woman, both estimated to be in their 50s or 60s. The woman showed no visible bleeding when rescued, while the man had a head injury but remained conscious. Both are receiving medical treatment and are not in life-threatening condition.

Authorities are conducting a further investigation into the cause of the collapse.
