This is the dramatic moment an elderly woman used her cane to chase away a gun-wielding suspect in India.

Footage shows a group of men standing outside a house, appearing to argue heatedly with someone inside.

Suddenly, one of the men pulled out a gun but was quickly held back by a companion.

As the pair stepped away from the door, they were faced by an elderly woman who was believed to be a relative of the person they had been confronting.

She emerged fearlessly, brandishing a wooden baton and ready to strike anyone who dared approach the house. The armed men were then seen fleeing the neighbourhood.

Police said the suspect, Mohsin, opened fire outside the home of resident Aslam over a long-standing financial dispute in the Peetal Nagri area of Moradabad on May 24.

A complaint has been filed, and authorities have launched an investigation.
