A fire ripped through two luxury river cruise boats in Bangkok this morning.

Footage shows the raging blaze engulfing the vessels while they were moored outside the five-star Anantara Riverside Resort.

Firefighters arrived at the scene after receiving a report at 5:30 am local time.

Police Captain Pongporn Sriphueak of the Pak Khlong San District Police said the fire was extinguished at 6:53 am with no injuries or casualties reported.

He said: 'A tourist boat sank in the Chao Phraya River. Officers remain at the scene to monitor a possible re-ignition since there is fuel at the back of the boat.

'Water was being pumped out of a second boat to keep it from sinking.'

Authorities said the cause of the fire was being investigated.
