This is the amusing moment a pet dog splashed around in a tub of water to cool off on a hot day.

Footage shows an Aspin pup leaping into the container filled with water on a sunny afternoon in Central Luzon, the Philippines.

The playful canine can be seen biting at the water flowing from the faucet, seemingly enjoying the refreshing dip.

Pet owner Renalyn Tamondong said: 'Our fluffy dog absolutely loves water. Every time we fill up the basin, he immediately jumps in and starts swimming.

'One time, he even got caught on camera sneaking into the water on his own when no one was around.

'I managed to capture another funny moment on video, and people found it really entertaining.

'Unlike most dogs who are scared of water, he's completely fearless and genuinely enjoys swimming.'

The region experienced dangerous heat index levels of up to 42 degrees Celsius on May 28.
