This is the heartwarming moment a trumpeter swan was released into a lake in Washington.

Footage shows the graceful bird named Trillium gliding into the waters of the 435-acre free-roaming area at Northwest Trek Wildlife Park.

Authorities said: 'Our new trumpeter swan has joined longtime resident Lily on Horseshoe Lake. After Lily's companion Reed passed away, we hoped to find her a new friend, and Trilly is already making waves.'

The trumpeter swan is North America's largest native waterfowl, known for its impressive wingspan and distinctive trumpet-like call. These majestic creatures are a symbol of wetland conservation and can often be seen in lakes, rivers, and marshes.
