A kind driver climbed down from his car to help an elderly pedestrian to safely cross a road.

Footage shows Vun Tavun waving to motorists to stop before guiding a pensioner across traffic in Chonburi, Thailand.

Vun held the resident's hand to support him before taking his bicycle.

The Good Samaritan did not leave the old man until he reached the pavement, as he had difficulty walking, dragging his legs.

Proud wife Nanie Ittisaksakul said: 'We saw an elderly man standing with a bicycle in the middle of the road.

'When my husband noticed him, he quickly got out of the car to ask if he wanted to cross to the other side.

'The man nodded, so my husband promptly flagged down oncoming traffic and helped him safely cross the road.'

The random act of kindness happened on May 26 afternoon.
