A housewife was terrified when a huge king cobra slithered through the family's garage.

The woman was walking back into her house after running an errand when she encountered the venomous intruder in their home.

Footage shows the unsuspecting resident passing through the garage while their pet dog barked persistently at the cobra.

She had a fright upon seeing the sinister snake slithering behind an air conditioner at the home in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, on September 21.

The woman's sister-in-law Yaya said: 'Our yard is open, so we get a lot of snakes at home. That day, my sister-in-law went out to buy rice, but she was shocked when she saw the large cobra. We were lucky it wasn't aggressive. It just left our house without harming anyone.'

King cobras are venomous snakes endemic to Asia. Though it has a fearsome reputation, it typically avoids encounters with humans, but will attack when its nest is threatened.
