41 Pets Rescued From Escondido Home, Now Receiving Care

ESCONDIDO, Calif. — Forty-one pets, including 28 dogs, six puppies, four cats, two kittens and one chameleon, are now safe and receiving care after being removed from a private residence in Escondido by the San Diego Humane Society’s Humane Law Enforcement team on Wednesday, May 28.

The animals are currently being evaluated by the organization’s veterinary and animal care teams to ensure they receive the treatment and support they need.

Due to the active nature of the case, further details are not being released at this time. The San Diego Humane Society thanked the public for its understanding and pledged to share updates when possible.

As of Wednesday, the San Diego Humane Society is caring for 1,938 animals, including 750 who are available for adoption. The organization encourages the public to help by adopting, fostering or donating.
