A cyclist with incredible reflexes hopped his bicycle over a cat that wandered onto the race track - straight into the path of the oncoming wheels.

Ian Caluban was moments from crossing the finish line when the stray darted in front of him in Bukidnon, the Philippines, on May 25.

Footage shows quick-thinking Ian bunny hopping his bike off the ground as he pedalled through, sparing the moggy from injuries.

Ian was cheered on by friends while the feline was startled and ran to the side.

An organiser then chased the tabby away to clear the road for the other racers.

Ian said: 'I almost hit a cat while biking. It suddenly crossed the road in front of me. I just reacted instinctively to avoid hurting it.'

The youngster successfully finished the event, and the animal was unhurt following the near miss on May 27.
