Woman pinned to wall after car driving along pavement crashes into lamppost
On May 18, Ms. Jiang from Nanchuan District, Chongqing, experienced a sudden car accident. From the moment of the crash to her rescue, only 50 seconds passed. The kindness of the people who rushed to help has left Ms. Jiang deeply moved and grateful.
Surveillance footage shows that Ms. Jiang was walking along the sidewalk when a white car suddenly lost control, veered onto the sidewalk, and crashed into a streetlamp. Ms. Jiang couldn’t dodge in time and became trapped between the back of the car and a wall.
At that moment, a citizen passing by on an electric scooter immediately stopped, dropped what he was carrying, quickly approached to check on her, and called emergency services. Two other citizens began waving and calling for help from nearby people. Students in school uniforms and other passersby quickly gathered around the car and worked together to lift it off Ms. Jiang.
Police officers and paramedics soon arrived and rushed Ms. Jiang to the hospital. After examination, she was found to have multiple fractures in her pelvis, ribs, and legs. Doctors said that thanks to the timely rescue by the good-hearted citizens, she avoided further injury from prolonged compression. Ms. Jiang has since undergone surgery and is currently in recovery.
Ms. Jiang said: “I am truly grateful to these kind-hearted people. There are still many good people in the world. I sincerely thank them for saving my life.”
