Los Angeles, United States - May 29, 2025 05/28/2025 06:57 pm GMT-0700 WESTLAKE, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at the intersection of 7th Street and Witmer. Firefighters arrived to find no visible flames from the multi-story Mayfair Hotel. Crews began investigating and learned that smoke detectors were activated and fire sprinklers had been deployed. It is believed that a malfunctioning heater was the cause of the fire. Initial information from the scene indicated that one individual was transported to the hospital as a result of the incident, though their condition is unknown. LAFD personnel, along with Los Angeles County Fire Department Health Hazmat teams, are on the scene investigating further.
