A pair of firefighters rescued a stranded dolphin from a lagoon in Italy.

The emergency responders assisted in returning the aquatic mammal to the sea in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Province of Udine, on January 6.

Dramatic footage shows the kindhearted rescuers carefully placing the creature onto a floating stretcher after conducting medical checks.

Veterinarians confirmed that the animal had not sustained any injuries from being beached.

Dolphins can become stranded due to illness, injury, navigational errors, environmental changes, or human activities such as boat strikes or entanglement in fishing nets.
