...NEW YORK, US - MAY 30, 2025: Several graduating students from the City College of New York (CCNY) displayed solidarity with Palestine by wearing traditional kaffiyehs and Palestinian flags during their commencement ceremony on Friday, May 30, in New York City. The demonstration comes amid ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza, which have led to increased activism and public expressions of support for Palestinians. Israel has pursued a devastating offensive in Gaza since October 2023, killing over 54,300 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Aid agencies have warned about the risk of famine among the enclave's more than 2 million population. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
